5. (21 pts) Draw the typical engineering stress vs. engineering strain responses for a brittle glassypolymer (A) and a plastic/rubbery polymer (B) that experiences cold drawing and strain hardening. Be sure to indicate which curve is which type of polymer ( A or B ). a. Label the significant parts of the curves: i. ultimate tensile strength, UTS ii. cold drawing region iii. strain hardening/strengthening region iv. modulus, \( E \) v. yield stress, \( \sigma_{y} \) vi. fracture stress, \( \sigma_{F} \) b. On the curve for the plastic deformation behavior (B), draw schematics to illustrate how the shape of a tensile dogbone (macroscale) specimen evolves and how the microstructure (i.e. polymer chain) evolves as the test progresses. (There should be 6 individual drawings. Schematics should roughly correspond with the labels i.-v. from part a.)
