Feedback serves a few roles in the communication process. When included in a communications plan, it provides a set time and place for stakeholders to provide input on specific aspects of a project. This is important as it strategically drives communication forward. By collecting feedback and acting on it, the project as a whole is strengthened. Feedback provides a healthy mechanism for positive, negative, and neutral input at regular intervals. Acting on feedback does not necessarily meaning making suggested changes no matter what. That goes against the entire project strategy. The proper way to act on feedback is to take it into consideration. By evaluating what is being said, who is saying it, and how the issue voiced is affecting the speaker, project leaders can then decide how to act. They can consider making changes or they can explain why they are doing things a certain way so their stakeholders better grasp the vision. Above all, it is an opportunity to check in with stakeholders, evaluate how things are going, and address any issues that have arisen.
