Historically, ACC students need ten (10) hours of relaxation after taking Exam 3 in Business Statistics to get back to “normal”. The population of students taking Exam 3 is normally distributed with a population standard deviation of 3. After Exam 3 exam last spring, I took a sample of thirty six (36) students and found that the average time of relaxation for getting back to normal after taking Exam 3 was twelve (12) hours. Using the .02 significance level test the claim by current students that it will take MORE than 10 hours of relaxation to get back to normal after taking Exam 3. : What is the alternate hypothesis (H 1 ) for this one-tail test? µ?12 µ=12 p £ < 12 µ> 10 ?< 0.10
