i. Draw a picture describing the problem and establish all relevant variables, i.e. length width, area, volume, cost, etc. ii. Establish the objective function (which you will maximize or minimize) and the constraints. If the same type of quantity (i.e. length, area, angle measure, etc.) is described with different units (i.e. inches verses centimeters), convert them to the same unit. iii. Parameterize the objective function as a function of a single variable, and find the domain of the objective junction that is implied by the constraints. iv. Differentiate the objective function and calculate the absolute maximum or minimum value of the objective function. Use this result to answer the questions(s) (and don't forget to include appropriate units)! Four identical adjacent rectangular pens against a barn wall each have an area of 125 square meters. The pens are partitioned using fences. What is the minimum amount of fence needed, and what dimensions of each pen achieves this minimum amount of fencing?
