A2. Let {N(t):t>=0} be a Poisson process with intensity \lambda >0. For n=1,2,dots, let S_(n) be the epoch when the nth event occurs. (1) For n=1,2,dots, find P(S_(n)<=t,S_(n+2)>t). (2) Find E[S_(2)-S_(1)|N(1)=2].

FLPW2000 Programmable Logic Controllers Sequence A Cylinder Project Criteria) (Labs 1-4) The following information will be your guide to complete the cylinder project assignment. You will be evaluated on how well your program functions. You must provide a hand written PLC ladder diagram, done on graph paper. Prove out your program on the classroom PLC and then demonstrate it to the instructor. Cylinder Sequence for One Complete Cycle When the cylinder cycle is initiated. the cylinder rod extends from the home position of limit switch LS1 to switch LS3, which is full stroke. When LS3 is closed the rod retracts back to the home position. When LS1 is closed the rod extends

stroke to limit switch LS2. After LS2 is closed the rod retracts completely and returns back to the home position, the cycle is now complete and is ready to be initiated again. See cylinder sequence diagram below. Cylinder Logic and I/0 Functions Lab 1 - Single Cycle Mode: Before any cycle can be initiated the cylinder must be in the home position. Pressing the start momentary push - button initiates the cycle by turning on solenoid A, which causes the cylinder rod to follow the sequence above. Pressing the stop momentary push - button during any portion of the cycle will de-energizes solenoid A and cancel the cycle, which causes the cylinder rod to return to the home position. (Any time solenoid A is energized, the directional control valve (DCV) will shift causing the cylinder rod to extend. When solenoid A is de-energized., the spring shifts the DCV back to its original position causing the cylinder rod to retract.) See machine diagram below Lab 2 - Automatic Mode: Before any cycle can be initiated the cylinder must be in the home position. The automatic cycle is initiated when the Auto toggle switch is turned on and the start button is pushed, this energizes solenoid A , which causes the cylinder rod to follow the sequence above. After the cylinder completes one cycle it will automatically start another one until the sequence is interrupted. When the Auto toggle switch is turned off during the cycle, the cylinder will complete the remaining portion of the cycle and then stop at the home position. Pressing the stop momentary push - button during any portion of the cycle will de-energizes solenoid

A

and cancel the cycle, which causes the cylinder rod to return to the home position. When either interruption method is used the cylinder must stay at the home position until the start button is pressed again. You must use the input/output addresses listed below for your programming. \table[[Inputs,Outputs,Cylinder Sequence],[00 Start,Sol A,L'S1 LS2],[01 LS1,,],[02 LS2,,],[03 LS3,,

Example 3.3 A 125 kg concrete block A is pulling a 200 kg log from its resting position on a road surface with a 30 incline, as shown in the figure. If the coefficient of kinetic friction between the log and the incline is 0.5. 1. (a) In Example 3.3. explain the method to determine whether Block A will move upward or downward. (b) In this example, find the range of the static friction coefficient (.) that will keep Block A stationary.
