Question Seven [10 marks] (a) A 1200 mm diameter stormwater sewer (for which the pipe chart in Appendix 2 applies) is laid at a grade of 0.15 m / 100 m. Use the pipe chart to calculate the full-bore pipe flow and full-bore velocity in the stormwater sewer. (2 marks) (b) Using the proportional (partial or hydraulic) elements chart (Appendix 3) determine the depth of flow and velocity in the stormwater sewer for an estimated low flow of 600 L/s. (4 marks) (c) Using Manning's Equation estimate the possible full-bore flow (full discharge) of the pipe detailed in section 6a above. (Assume n=0.012). Do you get the same answer? (4 marks)
