Some breeds of cats have fur color that is greatly determined by a pair of codominant alleles that are sex-linked. Black fur is produced by the allele B, and the allele B’ produces an orange coat. When both alleles are present in heterozygotes, a calico or tortoiseshell pattern is produced. A calico cat has a litter of seven kittens- 3 males and 4 females. In total, for males: one orange and two black, for females: two calico and two black.

A. What is the color of the father of this litter? Explain.

B. Under normal circumstances, would you expect to find calico males. Explain.

Please answer both A and B and explain why to better understand. Please only post if you are 100% positive your answer is correct, thank you!
