The pipeline with an inner diameter of 150?mm shown in Figure 4 conducts water from the reservoir and discharges at a lower elevation through a nozzle that has a discharge diameter of 50mm. The water surface in reservoir point 1 is at elevation 60m, the pipe intake points 2 and 3 at elevation 50m and the nozzle points 4 and 5 at elevation 0 (reference line). The frictional head losses are: from 1 to 2, 0mWH; from 2 to 3, 0.6mWH; from 3 to 4, 9mWH; from 4 to 5,3mWH.
