wydot-is-encouraging-cities-in-wyoming-to-replace-conventional-traffic-intersections-with-roundabout-pa689

WYDOT is encouraging cities in Wyoming to replace conventional traffic intersections with roundabouts. In an effort to study roundabouts, 25 intersections were randomly selected from across the state of Wyoming. Each intersection was converted from a conventional to a roundabout intersection. The number of accidents at each intersection were record for 17 months before and after the changing the intersection to a roundabout. Do roundabouts reduce traffic accidents? Results:

`hat(\mu )_(C)=-0.64;S_(C)^(2)=4;hat(P)=0.38`

What is the test situation? What is the null hypothesis? (Check all that apply) roundabouts did not change the true average number of traffic accidents the true average change of traffic accidents is zero the true average change of traffic accidents is greater than zero roundabouts reduced the true average number of traffic accidents roundabouts escalate the true average number of traffic accidents the true average change of traffic accidents is less than zero What is the alternative hypothesis? (Check all that apply) the true average change of traffic accidents is less than zero roundabouts did not change the true average number of traffic accidents roundabouts reduced the true average number of traffic accidents roundabouts escalate the true average number of traffic accidents the true average change of traffic accidents is zero the true average change of traffic accidents is greater than zero What is the interpretation? (Check all that apply) I conclude that roundabouts escalate the true average number of traffic accidents. Specifically, I predict that roundabouts increase the average number traffic accidents by 0.64 accidents per 17 months I conclude that roundabouts did not change the true average number of traffic accidents.
