You are a unique individual with goals and aspirations. You probably think of yourself as an autonomous agent moving through the world, making decisions, fostering relationships, and developing your character. I bet you probably have an inner monologue going on inside of your head, which is narrating your life. This all seems well and fine until you are asked to tell me about that thing. I want to know who are you? You are more than likely inclined to say your name, job, personality, beliefs, soul, body, etc. Those things may be satisfactory in an ordinary, casual conversation. However, that will not suffice here. Those are things are attached to you and not you. The empiricists would always ask, "from what impression is the idea derived?" If you could not answer the question, then it is meaningless. So, I would like to pass that same question along to you about an existential problem. From what impression have you derived the idea of self? pls use First person perspective like "I" not "we" or "us" etc...
