Genital area was prepped with Betadine and draped in the usual sterle fashion. About 10 cc of 2 percent Xylocaine jally was introduced into the urethra and a cystoscopy was performed using a #16 French flexible cystoscope. The urethra was grossly normal. The prostate gland was moderately enlarged. There was mild inflammation of the bladder mucosa, but there were no gross tumors or calculi seen in the bladider at this time. Cystoscope was removed. The patient tolerated the procedure well and left the procedure room in good condition.
